The Free South City Shuttle offers free transportation service for the South San Francisco community on Mondays through Fridays (except city-observed holidays - see list below).

The Blue (clockwise) and Green (counter clockwise) shuttles include pick up and drop off service to stop locations mainly throughout the eastern side of El Camino Real. These routes each include 22 stops with an approximate 45 to 50-minute roundtrip travel time, plus provide connection to the new Orange (western) route shuttle along the El Camino Real corridor, at Rotary Plaza on Alida Way, and the SSF BART station.

The new Orange (western) route began operations on September 11, 2023, and includes a one-hour roundtrip travel time with 39 stops mainly throughout the western portion of El Camino Real, traveling through the Winston Manor, Serra Highlands, Buri Buri, Avalon, and Westborough neighborhoods. A new stop located at Colma's Veterans Village (1680 Mission Road) was also added to this route in June 2024.

Holiday Schedule

The Free South City Shuttle does not operate on on the following city-observed holidays:

  • New Year's Day (January 1)
  • Memorial Day (May)
  • Independence Day (July 4)
  • Labor Day (September)
  • Thanksgiving (fourth Thursday of November)
  • Day after Thanksgiving (fourth Friday of November)
  • Christmas Day (December 25)
