Permits and Programs

Parking permits can be purchased through the City's online permit vendor, IPS or by calling their Permitting Process Center at (877) 224-7838.

Types of Permits

In addition to standard parking meters and pay stations, monthly parking permits are available.

Parking with a City-issued parking permit is allowed at parking lots number 1, 4, 5, 7, 12, 13, 16, 18 and in the Miller Parking Garage (spaces 38-244).

Monthly Permits

  • Monthly parking permits are available online
  • $50.00 monthly permit ($40.00 in Miller Avenue Garage only)
  • You will be placed on a waiting list when permits are sold out
  • If lost, new permit must be purchased
  • Hang on rear view mirror facing forward
  • Remove from rear view mirror before operating vehicle
  • Garage Permits only valid in space 38-244
  • Permits will not be pro-rated

Quarterly Permits

  • Quarterly parking permits are available online
  • Quarterly parking permits are available for Miller Parking Garage and Surface Lots.
  • $150.00 quarterly permit - Surface Lots
  • $120.00 quarterly permit - Miller Parking Garage

Purchase a Parking Permit Online

Purchase monthly parking permits online. To pay by cash or check, please visit our Finance Department (400 Grand Avenue) after completing your online application.

Reserve a Metered Space

You may reserve a metered space by contacting our Finance Department (400 Grand Avenue) at (650) 877-8505, at least 72 business hours in advance of when the metered space is needed. The cost is $35 per day.

 Permit Rules & Regulations

  • Effective April 1, 2018, permits on auto-renewal will be renewed on the 1st of the month for the following month.
  • Permits on auto-pay will be processed on the 2nd of the month for the following month's permit. Permits paid through auto-pay will be mailed to the address listed in the IPS Parking system after the 10th of the month for the following month's permit.
  • Permit holders using auto-renew and not using the auto-pay feature have until the 10th of the month to submit payment. If no payment is received by the 11th for the following month's permit, the permit will be cancelled and the permit holder will have to apply for a new permit.
  • When permits are sold out, a wait list will be established using the IPS Parking system.
  • Any remaining permits available for purchase will be available for purchase after all wait list requests have been fulfilled and will be available at the Finance Department after the 15th of the month for the following month's permit.
