Meet local author and culinary star, Chef Ava Marie Romero, in this author talk hosted by the South San Francisco Public Library. Her memoir, 35 years as a Autistic Celebrity Chef in the Bay Area: Stories from my Life in the Disability Food Community, shares many stories of the life of a South San Francisco native.  

Chef Ava Marie has 18 years of culinary experience. She has cooked for many lives and was trained at El Camino High Culinary Arts. She is a culinary instructor and world food championship competitor and was featured on KQED Check Please Bay Area and Live in the Bay TV. She currently lives in South San Francisco a.k.a. South City with her pooch Bellatrix and her close-knit community.
