Windswept

Ten Foot Metal Sculpture

The delicate tendrils of the ten-foot aluminum sculpture, "Windswept,” appear to be moving with the breeze as they reach upwards towards the sky. Tennessee sculptor Brian F. Russell, who works primarily in a dynamic abstract style noted that the inspiration for this “windswept” sculpture was actually the fluid movement of water. The shape of the individual segments were dictated by the suppleness of the heated metal. He believes that outdoor sculpture improves our visual environment by providing focus points of concentrated creative energy, radiating from the work forever and subtly enriching the lives of those who are in its sphere.
