The artistic bench, Composition #4, was crafted by artist Michael Gustavson, who used his expertise in raku ceramic techniques to incorporate intricately textured glazes, causing viewers to want to touch the surface. The diverse array of colors enhances the bench's surface with striking beauty.
Beyond providing a functional seating experience, the bench stands as a meaningful artistic contribution and fitting tribute to the late Cultural Arts Commissioner and community volunteer, Charlene “Shane” Looper. Shane Looper's profound commitment to the arts unfolded not only in her thirteen years of service on the Cultural Arts Commission but also in her skill as a master floral designer. Her advocacy extended to art exhibits, public art, the Jack Drago Cultural Arts Commission Youth Art Scholarship, and the Improving Public Places Committee.
