Housing Requirements for Developers

Residential Rental Developers

In 2018, the City Council adopted inclusionary affordable housing requirements for market rate rental housing developments. Chapter 20.380 of the South San Francisco Municipal Code details the inclusionary requirement. In summary, rental developers must set aside 15% of their units as below market rate (10% for low income households and 5% for very low income households). Residential For-Sale Developers

In 2018, the City Council adopted a new inclusionary affordable housing requirement for market rate for-sale housing developments. Chapter 20.380 of the South San Francisco Municipal Code details the inclusionary requirement. In summary, for-sale developers must set aside 15% of their units as below market rate (half for moderate income households and half for low income households). Commercial Developers
