City Councilmembers are elected by five geographically defined districts, each for four-year terms with no term limits. Voters select one Council candidate from their district every four years. Terms are staggered, so that two seats are voted on during one election cycle and three seats during the next cycle.
Terms for South San Francisco City Council Councilmember Mark Nagales, District 2 and Mayor James Coleman, District 4 expire November 2024.
