NOVEMBER 5, 2024 GENERAL ELECTION

The next General Municipal Election will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2024.

The City of South San Francisco is a General Law City governed by a five-member City Council. City Councilmembers are elected by five geographically defined districts, each for four-year terms with no term limits. Voters will select one Council candidate from their district every four years. Terms are staggered, so that two seats are voted on during one election cycle and three seats during the next cycle.

Terms for South San Francisco City Council Districts 2 and 4 are set to expire in November 2024. A General Municipal Election will be held on November 5, 2024, and these seats will be open to eligible candidates, including incumbents of District 2 - Mark Nagales and District 4 - James Coleman.

Councilmember Mark Nagales representative of District 2 term expires November 2024.

Councilmember James Coleman representative of District 4 term expires November 2024.

Candidates are listed as “pending” until they have completed, and filed, all nomination documents and have paid the filing fee, if applicable. Candidate lists become final after the nomination deadline for each office.
