On October 1, 2008, the City Green Food Packaging Ordinance went into effect.
The ordinance bans the use of polystyrene (which includes blown/expanded polystyrene, known in its common form as styrofoam, as well as non-recyclable clear plastic polystyrene) by food vendors.  It does not apply to all businesses, but only to food vendors serving food for direct consumption.

Fine
The fine for non-compliance begins at $100.
