[ACTIVE] National River Cleanup Day 2012 - May 19th

National River Cleanup Day 2012 is upon us and we are ready! Colma Creek is identified as a trash “hot spot” due to the large volume of garbage being washed down from the highly urbanized Colma Creek watershed. We need your help to clean up this sensitive habitat and prevent this trash from reaching San Francisco Bay and the Pacific Ocean!

On Saturday May 19th, the City of South San Francisco will be partnering with the County of San Mateo to participate on National River Cleanup Day by removing trash and debris from Colma Creek in South San Francisco. We will meet at the Utah Bridge in the morning from 9 am until 12 noon. The City will provide gloves, trash bags, water, safety equipment and restrooms for the day. There will be outreach materials provided and assistance provided by WQCP staff.
