Grand Ave/Magnolia Ave Traffic Signal
The City received $374,200 in grant funding from the Highway Safety Improvement Program for the design and construction of a new traffic signal at the intersection of Grand Avenue and Magnolia Avenue. Intersection improvements will also include replacement of the existing arch culverts with catch basins and connection to the storm drain system. New ADA curb ramps will be installed as well. Since the project is federally funded, staff will be coordinating efforts with Caltrans. This project is the result of a high number of pedestrian involved collisions at the intersection, despite previous efforts to control the intersection with an in-ground lighted crosswalk and an all-way stop.
