Improving Public Places & Park Clean Up Days Volunteers and Partners
The Parks and Recreation Department and the Improving Public Places Group host a number of cleanup days and flower and tree planting events throughout the year. Volunteers share a common vision of creating vibrant landscapes within South San Francisco by picking up litter, and planting flowers and trees.
Time Commitment: It’s up to you! Volunteers can participate in one day cleanup events or offer many years of service.
Corporate and Service Club Volunteers: The Parks and Recreation Department co-sponsors volunteer projects for service groups and corporate partners. These projects can include landscape projects like flower and tree planting, and cleanup projects, and donating and installing park fixtures like park benches, picnic tables, and play equipment.
Qualifications: No experience is necessary – just a passion for making our city a better place and playing in the dirt! Volunteers may be individuals, or members of youth organizations, service clubs, businesses, schools groups, and neighborhood or common interest associations. Volunteers and parents of volunteers under 18 years old must complete and submit a volunteer services waiver.
