South San Francisco Parks and Recreation Department is offering the Junior Giants program this summer. Junior Giants is a great opportunity for boys and girls 8 – 13 years old to learn the skills of baseball in a non-competitive and fun format. Participants attend one practice per week and play games on Saturday. Junior Giants is more than just baseball however. The lineup includes character development, education, health, and violence prevention.
The Junior Giants program will run from June 13 - August 6. Best of all, the program is FREE. We take a limited amount of children for sign-ups, so in the coming months, watch for the registration notice.
For more information, please call (650) 829-4680.
You can log onto www.sfrg-southsanfrnrec.siplay.com/site for online registration beginning Monday, April 20, 2016. Walk-In Registration will begin on April 27, 2016 at Terrabay Gymnasium and Recreation Center located at 1121 South San Francisco Drive, SSF. Spots will fill up so it is recommended to use the online registration process.
JUNIOR GIANTS VOLUNTEERS
The Sports program needs volunteer coaches for the summer Junior Giants program. Head coaches must be 19 years or older and pass a background check, assistant coaches need to be at least 15 years or older. Ideally, Coaches would need to be available from mid-June through mid-August. Practices are one day per week with games either Friday night or Saturday. The time commitment is about 1 ½ hours for one weekly practice and another 1 ½ for games on Saturdays.
Please complete the volunteer form to register. For more information, you can contact Bill Stridbeck by calling (650) 829-4683, or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
